Airwaves Privacy Policy

Effective October 6, 2026

Wohlklang Studio LLC makes Airwaves. This policy explains what information the app handles and what we keep.

The short version

Airwaves has no accounts and no tracking. We don't collect your name, device identifiers, location, or listening history. The only personal information we keep is an email address you choose to give us by joining the Spotify waitlist.

Music services

You can connect Spotify or Apple Music so Airwaves can save playlists to your account. Sign-in and saving happen entirely in the app on your device. Your music-service credentials and access tokens are never sent to our servers. Your use of those services is covered by their own privacy policies.

What the app sends to our server

To build a playlist, the app sends the flight number, airports or city names you enter, your song settings (genres you like or avoid, explicit songs, Eurovision), which music service to build for, and the songs Airwaves has already picked for this playlist so they aren't repeated. None of this is kept after the request, apart from the route record below.

What we store

Please don't include personal information in comments or feature requests.

IP addresses

To prevent abuse of our forms, our server holds recent IP addresses in memory for about 60 seconds. They are never saved.

Purchases

Airwaves Plus purchases are handled by Apple. We never receive your payment information.

Analytics and crash reports

Airwaves contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking code. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may give us aggregated usage statistics and crash reports that don't identify you.

Sharing

We don't sell or share your information. Our server runs on Fly.io, a hosting provider that stores the data above on our behalf.

Where your data is stored

Our server and the data above are in the United States. If you use Airwaves from another country, your requests are processed there.

Legal basis (EU and UK)

If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we keep your waitlist email because you gave it to us, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to remove it. We keep the other records above because we have a legitimate interest in running Airwaves and improving its playlists. None of them identify you.

Waitlist email

We use your email only to give you Spotify access in Airwaves or to let you know when it's available. We delete it after that. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

Children

Airwaves is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@wohlklangstudio.com. Your waitlist email is the only record linked to a person, so it's the only one we can find as yours. If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll post the update here with a new effective date.
